Hassel, used an old Triumph typewriter (pictured here), all through his last novels in the 70’s and 80’s and up until his passing. It is still conserved and with his family, who are happy to report it’s still up and running. He would write small passages at a time and read them aloud to family and friends, and from there he’d go back and redact. His wife was his biggest support system, and would help in editing.
