I didn’t like school books as a kid and was always interested in ww2, that’s when my dad suggested a book he had ‘March Battalion’. I read it and loved it, then spent every holiday after looking in second hand book stores until I completed the set. I always said to myself that I wanted to visit as many places in the book as possible, I had already been to Normandy and Berlin and my last trip was to Monte Cassino, obviously it got rebuilt but what an amazing place to visit.
