Started reading even hassel books as a youngster around 17yrs old am now 66. First book I read was Monte Casino wow after that I just got every book when available. I read them avidly and have me so much pleasure, sure there was gruesome stuff but after all it was war ,and did show war as it was .but apart from that the characters were great and honestly has some great laughs reading the banter between Porta,Tiny etc.I must say they have been amongst the best novels I have ever read such a joy and easy to read without any of them feeling as it was a long slog.Thank you Mr Hassel for the joy you have given myself and other readers of your work.you are sadly no longer here but you will never be forgotten.
