Have enjoyed all of his books over many years and am about to start to read them all over again, they are so real i can visualise the characters in each story and feel their pain anguish and elation.

Look forward to reading The Glorious Defeat .It must have been terrible for ordinary German soldiers not knowing what had become of their families and facing imprisonment.

I've been reading all of the Sven Hassel's books for more than 40 years, and I read several times each of them. I know they are not historical books, but they are true based on the experience, and that's enough for me.
