I had read all his books at least 9 times. I swear. I think I'll read again before I die. Made me laugh. Made me cry. But how much I loved all those guys. Thanks for his sharing! May he rest in peace.

I read all your boos right through my teens and early twenties and they helped define my appreciation for the ordinary German Landser. It really helped sharing a common name when growing up in a country where there were very few friends. I loved your book

Grew up with Sven and his mates and now I grow old with them, never ever tire of re-reading their adventures. May you rest in peace Sven Hassel and thank you for a lifetime's adventures.

I am passionate about military history and I must admit that among my many readings, Sven Hassel books are with those of Jean Mabire (a French author) among the most realistic and exciting to read. Each page is a real plunge into the reality of war.
